Thao founded Magnaminous, a brand strategy, and marketing consultancy to help B2C businesses enter the US market. She spent 16 years growing Hyland’s, helping to transform a small family business selling natural medicines in the natural products channel into an OTC pharmaceutical brand sold at all major food, drug, mass-market retailers, and online. She also served as Head of Marketing at Ascend Behavior Partners, a start-up providing at-home Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to young children.
Currently based in Taipei, Thao is eager to help start-up companies apply design thinking to their product development process and to think through marketing and channel strategies for the US market.
Early on in her career, Thao served in Peace Corps Mali as an agriculture volunteer before joining Mercer Management Consulting to work on finance projects for clients focused on working capital reduction.
Thao earned a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown School of Foreign Service and an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
