GiMer was founded in 2013, by Dr. Chi-Heng Chang and Dr. Wei-Tso Lin, the two outstanding graduates previously from Prof. Chii-Wann Lin’s excellent research team at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering, National Taiwan University. Employing their many years of experiences in both academia and industry, their technology and market development resources, they founded a company owning innovative patents and involving experts in electronics, mechanics, biomedical engineering and clinical trial.
GiMer has endeavored to develop to implanted peripheral nerve stimulator powered by wireless electricity in order to replace the current method where they use drugs to alleviate pain. Its project was selected to join Taiwan Biotechnology Take-off Diamond Action Plan by the National Science Council and Consultation Seed Personnel Training Program for Clinical Trials and Product Registration of Medical Devices by the Center for Drug Evalution, and also as “Promising Enterprise" in Taiwan Healthcare and Agricultural Biotech Industries Innovation and Excellence Awards. In the future, GiMer will extend its efforts in related medical devices in order to provide more high-quality healthcare service.
