Allen Lin is Assistant Vice President at Hon Hai Precision Industry｜Chairman Office, Digital Health. He joined the medical device field at the precious venture, and the company specialized in the optical imaging system. Dr. Huang developed the system from NTU, and it's based on the platform of OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography). The company applied this technology to optical biopsy, imaging-guided surgical systems, and digital pathology.
He was joined Taiwan Global Bio fund/ YFY Biotech Management Co. in 2007 and brought to TGB success in the incubation of several biotech companies. The most successful portfolio companies are Taiwan Liposome Company (4152) and TaiMed Biologics(4147). Both of them are IPO companies in Taiwan. He got a licensing deal from the University of Washington and incubated a start-up IVD company in Neihu. Also, he serves as director of business development in this new company (MiCareo, Inc.). MiCareo focuses on developing a rare cell detection platform, such as circulating tumor cell prognosis, prenatal diagnosis, and circulating endothelial cell detection.
Allen is the co-PI of SLP (Start-up Leadership Program) Taipei, and he started with Fiona for this program in 2012. Currently, they already enrolled 60 entrepreneurs in this program. They provide a crucial set of resources and some turn-key knowledge to run early-stage companies. Allen also collaborates with STB (Stanford-Taiwan Biomedical Fellowship Program) alumni to build up a new incubation network on medical devices called MEDx. Their resources included committed investment capital, technical and clinical experts, experienced mentors, state-of-the-art facilities, and new venture management. Allen would like to link the best young talents in Taiwan to the global entrepreneurial network in the biotech industry, and those organizations are the first step for him to move it.
Allen serves on the board of Alumni of Technology, Innovation& Intellectual Property Management of National Cheng-Chi University, the IACVA Taiwan board, and the board of Somnics, Inc. He received his MBA degree at National Cheng-Chi University and MSc degree at Chang-Gung University.
